Professor Tom Angier is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cape Town, where he teaches and researches in ethics, legal and political philosophy, aesthetics, and the history of philosophy. He holds two doctoral degrees, one from the University of Cambridge and another from the University of Toronto, and has held academic appointments and fellowships at leading universities in the United Kingdom, Canada, and South Africa.

His research is centred on the philosophical foundations of law, morality, and human rights, with particular expertise in Aristotelian and Neo-Aristotelian philosophy, virtue ethics, natural law, and classical Greek thought.
