Party kunstenaars bou ’n handelsmerk.
Victor Wolf bou skaduwees.
A mess of everything I've been living in a mental war zone yet to comprehend the eternal unknown Not here, not there not lost, not found storming in a floating sea of possibility Everywhere but right here, out there sunlit shadows of a flaring moonbeam Try to understand contradicting meaning gaslit, asswhipped I don't even know me I've seen this pretty place and I know it really touched me Wanted to embrace and then it really shocked me I've been had, you've been told, how do we distinguish from normality Insanity, profanity We keep living at Godspeed indeed One day you're made and the next you're long gone You get to take your picture and then just move on on and on forever till we no more Memories of species that have been extinguished Monuments of people that no one visits No thoughts, no feelings How can we be missed if there's no one missing I've seen this pretty place and I know it really touched me Wanted to embrace and then it really shocked me I've been had, you've been told, you can never know me Even though I know that we conjure the meaning In this age I make believe in cunning Truth is still a thing, maybe just not your thing Insanity is slaughtered when belief takes over I believe, I don't believe the things that tell you to believe We made a mess of everything With the solid lines you bring Dividing everything And I've got no sympathy for you While I'm lying at your feet And claiming your defeat We made a mess of everything With the solid lines you bring Dividing everything And I've got no sympathy for you While I'm lying at your feet And claiming your defeat We made a mess of everything We made a mess of everything We made a mess of everything We made a mess of everything
America first, America first, America first, you want America first America first, America first, America first, you want America first, you fix America first You come here to talk with your cannons, you and your minions, your noisy opinions You killed all the people who lived here, brought in the labor, freed them enslaved them Now you control all the money, isn't it funny, it's all beyond me Isn't it strange how you bring about peace that results into chaos, military payoffs We don't fear you, a nation of terror You think you're superior, but you're just America We don't fear you, a nation of violence We're not inferior, you're just America You think you're God's gift to the planet, you're out to destroy it, if you cannot employ it Whatever happened to freedom, liberty, reason and traded in treason You destroy in the name of peace your supremist religion, we cannot believe it We're no longer fooled by the shiny reporting, ever distorting, you're better than all things Oh say, can't you see, there's no one but you and your party No more intelligence, we question your relevance We don't fear you, a nation of violence Take pride in your infamy, no longer decency We don't fear you, a nation of terror You think you're superior, but you're just America We don't fear you, a nation of violence We're not inferior, you're just America America First, America First, America First You want America First, America First, America First You want America First, you fix America First America First, America First You want peace on this earth, you fix America First America First, America First You want peace on this earth, you fix America First
from the album: live@home When you get up, will you save me something I don't think I'll make it on my own When you get up, will you leave the passage open I don't think I'll make it before dawn Before today, I used to say that I'd be there I'd never disappoint in any way Send for the clowns, may no one know what's here at stake May no one ever read between the lines No one ever read between the lines If you get in, will you ask if I am welcome Ask if there is something to be done You get in, will you save me something I don't think I'll make it very soon Before today, I used to say that I'd be there I'd never disappoint in any way Send for the clowns, may no one know what's here at stake May no one ever read between the lines No one ever read between the lines That is not like me at all, oh no That is not what I would usually do Don't judge me while I am small, oh no Don't judge me as you usually do I usually know myself I usually take the fall I usually know myself I'm usually tall If you were me, would you ask if you were someone Would you ask if there is something to be done If you get in, will you see if I am living I don't think I'll make it on my own Before today, I used to say that I'd be there I'd never disappoint in any way Send for the clowns, may no one know what's here at stake May no one ever read between the lines No one ever read between the lines That is not like me at all That is not what I would usually do Don't judge me while I am small Don't judge me as you usually do I usually know myself I usually take the fall I usually know myself I'm usually tall I usually know myself I usually take the fall I usually know myself I'm usually tall I usually know myself I usually take the fall I usually know myself I'm usually tall I usually know myself I usually take the fall I'm usually tall I usually know myself I'm usually tall
Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my disguise x2 I was standing in the middle of the street It’s raining. A glimmer of light filled the sky You were lying on a table when the flame had caught your eye Oh I feel I am there. Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my disguise I swear I left it lying on my breakfast table I swear I left it just there Unite the shadows. Though we’re in the dark the light’s within sometimes felt, sometimes seen Float like a feather. Lighter than the lightest star that shines Oh I feel I am there If you want me, I can be just like any other If you want me, I can be like myself Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my disguise x2 I was standing in the son just a moment ago When I was hit by a thought and a pile of dough Enough money for a Jag and an up-class hoe So rich I should be hanging low with Han Solo But the name on the card belongs to loan shark Larry See I had to shoot him down when he took my caddy When he hit the ground, his money in my hand I wondered ain’t there anybody that can spot where my disguise is at Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my Has anybody seen my disguise
Fell into the money
I can buy a lot of honey
but I long for you
I long for you now
Climbed into the mainstream
forgotten how to daydream
but I long for you
I long for you now
Crossed a lot of bridges
been both sides of the knife's edge
but I long for you
I long for you now
Fell into the money
I can buy a lot of honey
but I long for you
I long for you now
Bridge:
You are the world to me
Within time became
to me you are the world
there's nothing bigger than
the world are you to me
Within time became
to me you are the world
there's nothing bigger
than the world
Fell into the money
I can buy a lot of honey
but I long for you
I long for you now
Rubbing lot's of shoulders
I know where all the glitz is
but I long for you
I long for you now
Shared a lot of secrets
I know how well the shoe fits
but I long for you
I long for you now
Fell into the money
I can buy a lot of honey
but I long for you
I long for you now
(Bridge)
How quick you're free
When suddenly you see
When you awake
When you leave your slumbering state
Then you know what you chose not to believe
You sing
You sigh
There's nothing bigger (x2)
than the world
